 Álfur gives offsprings of medium hight with a fair, sharp looking head, straight nose line and well opened eyes. The neck is raised and soft but pretty deep with high shoulders. Most often the back is broad and muscled, the croup is powerful but steep. His offsprings have good proportion but many of them have a deep breast. Their feet are featherd and dry with powerful tendons but have narrow space between hind legs. Hooves are deep but rather narrow, main and tail are above average. Álfur gives soft tolt with big stride and good rythm and trot with high movements. Most of the offsprings are five gaited, willing and supple. They have great form under rider with high leg action. Álfur gives good looking horses with a well raised neck, they are willing and supple with high leg action, most of them are five gaited and the basic gates are strong. Álfur gets first price for offsprings and second place.

The back is mostly broad and muscled and the croup is powerful but steep. His offsprings are long legged with good proportions but sometimes the breast can be a bit deep. Their feet are dry with powerful tendons and narrow space between hind legs. Hooves are deep but rather narrow with medium feathers. Álfur gives excellent tolt and trot with good rythm, long strides and high movements. Walk is above medium quality with long strides on average, their canter is high with good quality. The versatility of the offsprings is divided in two corners regarding pace but some have excellent pace. The offsprings are highly willing and cooperative, they look great under rider with high leg action. Álfur gives well-favoured horses with a raised neck.
